Summer Festival Summer Festival

The summer is here… Can you hear it knocking on your door? Or is it missing some beat? Well, even if you live in a European country where it’s still cold - let these music festivals warm you up a little! Jump on the plane and follow the sound!

MadCool Festival

When? July 6-8

Where? Madrid, Spain

What to expect? With a huge success of a Summer Story music fest & one of its biggest headliners Armin van Buuren, a Dutch DJ & record producer coming straight from Ibiza to Madrid, the city of Madrid is not not done yet. MadCool has a lot to impress us with! Huge list of artists & quality indie-rock music will hopefully repeat the success of the last year. This year the line-up consists of Green Day, Kings of Leon, The Foals, Wilco, Foo Fighters, Cage The Elephant and even more.

According to the organizers, it’s intended to be a festival beyond music, “a new global experience, the result of making coexist in the same space different artistic expressions in a sustainable and responsible manner”. This means there will be plenty of things to experience besides music – expect visual art, photographic exhibits, movie showings and even some gastronomic diversity.

If you see that all the tickets are sold out don’t get upset. One of the tips is to check social media - people are always reselling their tickets in case they can’t go.

Bluedot Festival

When? July 7-9

Where? Cheshire, England

What to expect? It’s Bluedot’s second year, so it’s a newcomer among music fests! Nevertheless, last year was impressive. Expect interactive installations, live art projections and experimental musical performances - last year’s highlight came in the form of a chorus of bees set to rhythm - soundtracked by a carefully curated lineup of interstellar musical performances. Festivals are pairing music with science and tech - becoming almost cosmic experiences. Mix of music and hedonism designed to take you away from reality for 72 hours. What can be more interesting?

Øya Festival

When? August 8-12

Where? Oslo, Norway

What to expect? In August every year the Øya Festival gathers more than 60,000 music lovers to Oslo, where good music lovers can enjoy f4 days of everything from international stars to up-and-coming artists. This year’s line-up has Lana Del Rey, The Pixies, Ryan Adams, The XX and many more. Held in Oslo’s Medieval Park, this is one of the most elegant festivals in Europe and, when you’re not watching bands, you can kick it by the lakeside. Sounds promising?

Tomorrowland

When? July 21-23

Where? Boom, Belgium.

What to expect? You must have heard of Tomorrowland before but if not you can even take a virtual tour from 2016 experiences. Last year 180.000 tickets were sold almost immediately. Just imagine that!

Tomorrowland takes place at recreation area, De Schorre, in Boom. The town of Boom is situated in Belgium, between Antwerpen & Brussels. Next to Tomorrowland there is DreamVille - a vibrant city that welcomes tens of thousands festival visitors after an exuberant day at Tomorrowland. A city where different personalities meet and where international friendships are made. A city where the People of Tomorrow eat, sleep, live and especially enjoy their 5-day experience. Are you buzzing yet? Travel, together with the People of Tomorrow, from every corner of the world, all united in a once in a lifetime travel experience that brings you to Tomorrowland. To see the full list of performers go here.

Lollapalooza

When? August 3-6 & September 9-10

Where? Chicago, the United States & Berlin, Germany

What to expect? It’s not just the name of the event that sounds fun, it’s the whole lot of experience and music. Lollapalooza is an annual music festival featuring popular alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock, hip hop, and EDM bands and artists, dance and comedy performances, and craft booths. It also happens in two places - one in Chicago, the United States in August and another one (Hey, Europe!) in Berlin, Germany. Do you think that’s enough? Well, Lollapalooza has a lot more in store. This year you can become and Ambassador for Loves Hopes Strength programme, as an Ambassador you will spend about 4 hours interacting with fans on teams focused on patron services and eco-initiatives: help fill water bottles, greet festival goers at venue entrances and box office, motivate environmentally friendly acts through the Rock & Recycle Program! Go here to find out more.

And, of course, music!!! Lots of good ones, that’s the Lollapalooza’s signature marque. Check out both USA’a and Germany’s line up.

Let this summer be filled with great music!
