The Comeback Of Green Origami – From Plastic Bin Bags To Newspapers

Life without plastic bags has a shorter history than most people realize. The convenience of picking up any number of plastic bags was initially limited when supermarkets began charging a small amount of money for them and later when supermarkets removed plastic bags from their stores completely. Some countries even went so far as to ban them entirely.

As a child I would go shopping with a reusable fabric shopping bag or even a net bag. Pastries were kept in paper bags, and so were fruits and vegetables.

And now the best part – newspapers were used instead of plastic bags as a protective lining for rubbish bins. Needless to say, the process of composting must have been much shorter.

The good new is now that the green trend to reuse materials and items is gaining momentum, and so is the tendency to reduce our impact on the environment. With this simple guide you´ll became a pro at “green origami”.
