The Virgin Suicides refers to five sisters between 13 and 17 years old whose lives were dominated by strict, Catholic parents. Their lives are veiled in a mystery which comes out as one of them attempts suicide. Her action is taken as a call for help, nevertheless she is sent home, where she eventually succeds in killing herself, to be followed by her sisters, one by one. The film is simultaneously excellent and extremely disturbing,. Kirsten Dunst stars as one of the sisters.
