Tour Through Canada

Because travel for pleasure doesn't have to end with the onset of autumn, we continue our virtual tour through individual countries via photographs.  Following Russia, which we featured last week, we continue this week with a visit to Canada, another spectacular and multicultural country, this one with two official languages.

Last week we re-started our regular fortnightly bulletin of festivals around the world. Don't miss the most engaging events from the fields of music, dance, film, and many others.  The following events are scheduled for the second half of September.

The days are getting shorter, so no wonder people are surrounding themselves with beautiful and colourful decorations. Those who have the luxury of having a garden or a balcony will appreciate a few planting tips, before winter takes over.  Others will appreciate new ideas for interior decoration, on windows or doors. Check out our gallery.

Moving on from Vietnam - our destination last week - we travel north to visit the largest country in the world, covering an incredible 11 time zones, where we will enjoy a rich history and a landscape filled with contrast. Visit Russia.

The first road tunnel was built 76 - 77 AD for the Via Flaminia at the Furlo Pass in the Apennines.  Which are the longest road tunnels? Continue reading.

This number in our series on basic food preparation is dedicated to one of the most variable items in our menus - milk. Milk becomes part of our diet the day we are born and stays with us throughout our lives. The variety of milk products is simply endless, and equally various are the sources of milk, including cow's milk and goat milk and continuing to sheep or buffalo milk. Check out the foods that are based on milk.

Tour Through Vietnam

Summer is nearly at an end, but we are continuing with our travels. Last time we visited China, and today's article will be dedicated to a neighbouring country which has enjoyed exponential growth in tourism in recent years and has become a popular destination for a cross section of visitors.

Our perceived needs have been increasing dramatically. The constant demand for consumer items and access to material things is on the agenda. Living while cut off from all these amenities is almost inconceivable. And yet, people live in places so isolated that their connection to civilization is extremely restricted, in some places limited to a couple of times a year. Check out the most isolated places where people live.

Tour Through China

Following up on the virtual visits we have paid to India and Thailand during the last two weeks, we are going to stay in Asia for a bit and move to the North, to a vast country with ravishing sights - China.
