King Hamad Youth Empowerment Award 2018

Individuals and organisations who contribute to achievements of the SDGs goals are welcome to apply for the King Hamad Youth Empowerment Award 2018. The deadline is on October 30th.

Both individuals and organisations wcan participate under youth action and NGOs/Foundations category, respectively. Individual winners will receive $20,000 and organisations will be granted a one-time remuneration of $25,000.  Winners will be informed of the decision by January 2019 and invited to attend the awards presentation in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Flights and accommodation will be paid by MYS for each of the 8 winners.

Main criteria

  • Participants applying under the Youth action category should be citizens of any UN member states;
  • Applicants can be individuals above the age of 15 years and below the age of 30 years; a youth-led entity (in which at least 50% of current management/leadership is below age of 30); a youth-focused entity (in which at least 90% of resources serve youth above 15 and below 30 years of age).

The Second category is open to entities that are legally recognized and registered in a UN member state, in one of the following four sectors: the governmental and public sector; The private sector; NGOs/foundations, The media.
