Would You Like to Volunteer in Mongolia? Join Green Initiatives at WWF Eastern Field Office

WWF has an opening through its Youth Volunteer Internship Programme for a Malagasy volunteer/intern for a 6-month assignment with the WWF Mongolia Eastern field office. Deadline to apply is 25 January.

Get the chance to volunteer in Mongolia:The Amur is the biggest river in North-east Asia, and one of the biggest free-flowing river of the world.
It originates from two sources:
– The northern source is the Onon River in Mongolia and
– the southern source is the Argun River, which drains the western slope of the Da Xing’an Mountains in China.
The wider Amur basin encompasses – in WWF terms – three terrestrial and one freshwater Global 35 ecoregion. Since 2008, the conservation program on Conservation and sustainable development in Head of Amur River have being implemented in Eastern Mongolia.
The mission of the Eastern field office of WWF Mongolia is to ensure effective ground level implementation of the strategic plan for Amur Heilong ecoregion and WWF Mongolia through establishing and maintaining strong cooperation between WWF and key partners at local level under the guidance of specialists of main office in UB.
Volunteer’s main function is to assist to staffs of Eastern field office in implementation of Green initiative/development related activities in Dadal soum.
Including assessments (Green office assessment for 15 partner organizations, Waste management, Wood use); preparation of work plans for the green initiative related activities in Dadal soum, organization of events and so on.
Assignment dates are 1 March to 30 August 2018.
What to do to volunteer in Mongolia? 
  • Good level of English;
  • 19-27 years old;
  • Master of Science Degree in Sustainable Development, Natural Resource and Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences, CC or other relevant field. .
