A world heritage site is generally defined as “ a landmark or area which is selected by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO) as having cultural,[1] historical, scientific or other form of significance, and is legally protected by international treaties. The sites are judged important to the collective interests of humanity.”

It has been three weeks since we last published our tips for festivals. This time we have carefully picked five very affordable music festivals of different genres from various pockets of the world. Do not miss the best.

The simplest and the most serious health issues may originate with a lack of vitamin D.  Our grandmothers knew about this quite naturally and also understood the symptoms of lack of vitamin D; and yet, the knowledge got lost somewhere. Yes, it’s true that too much hand washing causes us to reduce our immunity due to loss of good bacteria that protects us. Compulsive hand washers tend to fall sick more often, most especially during Autumn, Winter and Spring. At the same time, following some basic rules with the bacteria causing areas in our homes and offices is recommended.

This week we discover another university city in Austria. Linz is the third largest Austrian city with a rich history. Linz is also a place of many cultural events. Last but not the least, Linz holds the oldest cake recipe in the world, dating back in 1653 - called Linzer Torte.

Linz is a city of contrasts. Medieval architecture, places of worship, the old part of the town and the new and the modern, it is all there. At one time known more as the hometown of Hitler, especially since 2009 Linz came to be known as a city of culture when UNESCO called it the European cultural capital for that year. This city of 200,000 residents has its fair share of student population and international students at the university level.
