Young people from all over the globe are welcome to take part in an essay contest for youth. The theme of the contest is “The Change I Want to Make”. Entries must be received by June 15, 2018.

Young researchers on foods, personal care, cosmetics, textiles, audio systems, pharmaceuticals and other non-food products are encouraged to submit their abstracts and participate in the 8th European Conference on Sensory and Consumer Research, which will be held from 8th to 12th of September in Verona (Italy). Abstract submission deadline is on 12th of March.

Young women and women’s groups currently active in rural life are welcome to apply for the Women’s World Summit Foundation Awards. The Prize is US $1000 per laureate. The Prize aims to draw international attention to laureates’ contributions to sustainable development, food security, and peace, thus generating recognition and support for their initiatives and projects. The deadline is on April 30, 2018.

The BraunPrize 2018 challenges creative minds to envision design concepts that matter. Main focus should be on what is essential, on creating truly better solutions and experiences. The deadline is on March 20, 2018.

Australian Book Review welcomes entries in the 2018 ABR Elizabeth Jolley Short Story Prize, one of the world’s leading prizes for an original short story. The Jolley Prize is worth a total of $12,500. Entry is open to anyone in the world who is writing in English. The deadline is on April 10, 2018.

Art Noise Travel Residency Program invites visual artists, Applied Artists, designers, Art Theorists/writers, cultural students are invited to explore African Arts and Cultures through work-study relationships with contemporary African Artists and Traditional Artisans as well as personal work across three African countries and their communities for a period of 3 months. The deadline is on 11th of May.

Young writers, bloggers, vloggers, photographers, journalists who enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate course (of any subject) at a university or higher education institution with good command in English are welcome to apply for the Future News Worldwide competition and conference 2018, which will be held from 2nd to 8th of July in Edinburgh. Participation is fully funded. Deadline to apply is February 28th.

Students from Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa are welcome to apply for the Great Minds initiative. This is a competition for 3 to 6-month internships at one of the IBM Research Labs in Zurich, Nairobi, or Johannesburg. The deadline is on 16 February 2018.

High school and university students from all over the world are welcome to participate in The World Youth Essay Competition. There is no topic restriction and you are free to write about topics such as aspects of society, environmental issues, science and technology, global affairs, and more. Winners will be invited to Germany for a special winner ceremony with all flight and accommodation expenses covered. The deadline is on 31 March 2018.
